Aureus Experentia XII

Aureus Experentia XII, held on 2nd June 2006 , was certainly a golden experience for Nanyang Junior College (NYJC) band members. It has been long since NYJC band had put up a concert at the memorable Victoria Concert Hall. The performance was well received and the hall was brimming with people as the start of the concert was approaching.

Danse Diabolique, a devilish piece served as Aureus Experentia's grand opening. The energetic waltz at the end of the piece perked up the ardent mood of the band members who were determined to give their very best for that concert. The concert reached its climax during the second half, whereby NYJC's very own percussion ensemble, Junk Jamz surprised us all with the playing of household items, such as pails and washing boards.

That groovy item had the whole audience in Victoria Concert Hall thrown aback when these ‘jammers' walked in from the entrances of the hall, rocking to the salsa rhythm they were creating. Screams, shouts and cheers were distinctively heard from the audience when the performance for junk jamz inevitably ended. Seeing that the audience was all fired up in their seats, this fully heightened the band's morale, encouraging them to once again give their utmost best for the rest of the evening.

Entering a new phase, Aureus Experentia XII brought to light a brand new NYJC band, a band which will always strive for excellence in the pursue of our goals.
