Teachers' Day Thank-you Message

03 September 2009 | Contact

On 31st August, Monday, we had our annual Teachers' Day Celebrations in NYJC. Through our programs, we showed our heartfelt appreciation and gratitude towards our dear tutors, who have ignited the passion within us. Tutors enjoyed Teachers' Day breakfast and received souvenirs, both funded by the students of NYJC. During our Teachers' Day concert, the tutors witnessed dedications, videos and performances, which touched their hearts with the sincere appreciation from the students.

As Teachers' Day Celebration has come to a successful conclusion, we would like to thank all the people without whom this event would have been impossible.

First of all, we would like to thank Mr Kwek, Ms Ng and College Steering Committee for providing us with constructive suggestions and comments during our planning process.

Next up, we would like to thank the Pugilistic Society, the Guzheng Ensemble, Dance Society, After Hours and NYDC for their amazing performances during the ceremony. Thank you very much for your time and effort in making our concert a success. We would also like to thank the performing teams who came down to our auditions as well. 0911 and 0916, thank you very much for your beautiful and touching videos and congratulations on being the two classes whose videos were chosen to be shown to the whole school during the celebrations! A big thank you to AVA team who helped us throughout the event. Thank you very much for staying back late on rehearsal nights, we really appreciate your kind help.

Thank you Photography Society also for capturing the memorable moments during our events.

Thank you very much House Exco, for your enthusiastic help in leading the school with ACES Day dance. Staying back to learn and practise the dance even after rehearsals, you have put in tremendous effort for this event; we truly appreciate your genuine help.

Also, we would like to thank our beloved seniors, the J2s, and the 31st Student Council, for your participation and enthusiasm throughout the events, especially Jamie, April and Van Anh for sharing your touching stories and dedications with us.

Not forgetting our J1 cohort, thank you very much for your attentive participation and support from the preparation to the end of this event. You are the ones who determined the success of Teachers' Day!

Last but not least, we would like to thank a special group of individuals who we owe dearly for this event. Our teacher-advisers Mr Alvin Tan, Ms Ng Sio Hoon, Mr Wanye Sequeira and Ms Belinda Loh, there would be no way we could have come this far without your guidance, and teachings. Thank you very much for everything you have done for us and for understanding us deeply. For your sweat and tears, we will continue to strive for the best for our future events and endeavors.

We, the 32nd Student Council, hope that both the tutors and the students had a memorable and meaningful Teachers' Day Celebrations 2009. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you very much!
