A grand introduction: NYJC Open House 2009

NYJC’s first major event of the year opened with much fanfare on the 13th of January. Having just reopened its doors to the public after the holiday season, the school welcomed secondary school students to have a feel of NYJC school life.

Many Co-curricular Activity groups (CCA) had set up their booths since 10am, long before the scheduled opening time in order to give a proper welcome to visitors.

Performing groups such as the Chinese Drama Club were also dressed in elaborate, eye-catching costumes to put up an entertaining skit.

Apart from exhibitions by various CCA groups, there was also other entertainment that came in the form of free popcorn and iced Milo as well as a series of inter-house games that ranged from Table tennis to Soccer.

Ultimately, the event could be deemed as a success as both visitors and NYJCians alike enjoyed a day of fun and creative activities, bringing home smiles on their faces.
