Manchester United: Out of Steam without Ron? Fret Not.

Recently, Manchester United, the Current English Champions for the 3rd consecutive time in the English Premier League, lost their crown jewel of the squad, Cristiano Ronaldo to Spanish Giants, Real Madrid.

Ronaldo: No longer a Manchester United player.

Since then, Alex Ferguson has bought Michael Owen, the former Liverpool star, to fill up Ronaldo’s missing boots. However, Owen has often been plagued by injuries and seen as a faded star in the eyes of many.

Talk has been rifle in the sports industry that Manchester United has lost their plot without Ronaldo with them. Ronaldo’s influence over the club is immense: at playing level, he is thought to shock strikers, trample on defenders and dazzle goalkeepers because of his uncanny ability to manoverve the ball around his feet. Ronaldo also brings in millions in revenue for the club for his sponsorship deals and other sorts of merchandise. Without him, the club is sure to suffer immense losses, especially in terms of playing competitiveness.

This huge loss in attacking flair for the club is most obviously shown at the recent loss for the club to Burnley. Burnely, a newly promoted club that has not been in top flight for 33 years, won 1-0 against Manchester united. This humiliating result has seen both the media and fans to fire round after round of salvo against Ferguson, Critising his choice of players and in more serious cases, some fans have already started saying that the club had made a huge mistake in selling Ronaldo, claiming him as the life and soul of the club.

This departure of Ronaldo and the recent shock loss to Burnley has surely left a worrying question mark for most Manchester United fans: Has Man United really lost the plot? Having been a loyal Manchester United fan for five years, I would like to tell all fans and critics of Manchester United: RELAX. We have an Answer. FERGUSON.

Ferguson: His hair-Dryer Treatment will never be forgotten, eh?

Sir Alex Ferguson has been in charge of Manchester United for over 20 years, and has made a series of major decisions involving the sale of players that were supposedly influential. Look at David Beckham. When Ferguson sold him away to Real Madrid, People thought that was it for United. But United still emerged victorious without Beckham. And look at where is Beckham now? Rotting away in a club which nobody watches? Ha! Ferguson must be having the last laugh about this. Look at Van Nistelrooy. After being transferred out to Real Madrid, his star power seems to have faded.

If you follow the trends of Ferguson’s selling patterns, you would notice that Ferguson has an extremely shrewd and accurate sense of the players future. A wily old fox at this business, he would not sell a player unless he thinks that the player has already reached his maximum potential in the club.

So in other words, Ron, WE DO NOT NEED YOU. I wholly and fully trust Ferguson’s judgement in all the club’s decisions, and so should anyone who calls himself a fan. As to whether the team would win a fourth straight title? I think under Ferguson’s guidance, there is no reason why the club cannot achieve, and even if it does not, I am sure Manchester United will still play competitively; they will never go down without a fight.

Thus, I hope for a bright future for the club and LONG LIVE MANCHESTER UNITED!

Manchester United: Winners forever.
