International Friendship Day 2008 Quiz

International Friendship Day 2008 was organized to celebrate Singapore’s successful bid to host the inaugural Youth Olympic Games in 2010. One of the activities involved the answering of several interesting questions relating to the Games, which saw an overwhelming response from the student body. Although it was heartening to know that a large number of NYJCians were aware that our country would be hosting the Youth Olympics in 2010, only a handful knew that London will be hosting 2012 Olympic Games.

There are several positive outcomes that will accrue to Singapore in its hosting of this event. The number of tourists who visit Singapore is projected to increase significantly, and Singapore will become known for hosting the first Youth Olympic Games. Moreover, the huge publicity generated in the hosting of this mega-event will also give the local sporting industry a shot in the arm.
