The Budget Debate 2007

Nanyang JC telecast the budget statement by Minister Tharman ‘live’ in Lecture Theatre 4. About 300 students who had free periods sat in and listened to the Budget statement. Students were allowed to enter and leave the lecture theatre freely to accommodate their lessons since the presentation of the Budget lasted from 3pm to 6pm

Prior to the session, short hand-outs were prepared to outline the key issues involved in Budget 2007. As the Budget was presented, our Economics teachers Mr Bong and Mr Nandwani highlighted certain points of difficulty. It was an enjoyable session and through short reflection on the proceedings our students were able to identify key issues and explain key rationale for certain Government actions.
