Nanyang JC Hosts Youth for Causes Awards Presentation

In conjunction with YMCA and Citibank, NYJC hosted the 2009 Citibank-YMCA Youth for Causes Awards Celebration on 21 November 2009.
The ceremony aimed to cultivate a culture of social responsibility and build community leadership. It also hopes to act as a catalyst in promoting responsible social entrepreneurship among youths in Singapore. The ceremony was held to recognise contributions of Young Singaporeans to various worthy causes.
InC.ny Presents Recipients of the Inaugural "Excellence in Innovation" Awards

As part of InC.ny’s continued efforts to foster a strong culture of innovation within the Nanyang JC’s community, InC.ny concieved the "Excellence in Innovation" Award.
Leaders of the College, in particular Presidents and Vice-Presidents, Captains and Vice-Captains of Student Groups (both CCAs and Student Interest Groups), gathered together on Wednesday, September 2nd 2009 at the CCA Leaders’ Dialogue Session organized by the 32nd Student Council, Communications Committee. The session was graced by our Principal Mr. Kwek Hiok Chuang, Vice-Principal Ms. Ng Sook Kit, HOD of Student Leadership Development Mrs Jane Chong, HOD of PE/CCA Mrs Koh Siew Leng, Subject Head PE/CCA Mr Tonny Lim and Subject Head of Aesthetics Ms Tan Meng Lee. It was held at the i-Space, a venue chosen for the air-conditioned environment, large space and good audio and visual support.
Nanyang JC awarded the prestigious β€œSchool Distinction Awardβ€ by the Ministry of Education

1. School Distinction Award (SDA) On 10 September 2009, the Ministry of Education announced that Nanyang Junior College had been accorded the School Distinction Award (SDA) for having achieved exemplary systems and processes. The college had been recognised for its well-defined processes that lead to sustained achievement in student outcomes. The School Distinction Award (SDA) is the second highest award for school excellence under the MOE Masterplan of Awards.
2009 InC.ny has the objective to Ignite and Catalyse the Spirit of Innovation in our college. To keep track of innovative teaching practices and share within the NY community, we called for nominations for Innovative Teaching Practices in Term 2. We were very encouraged by the enthusiastic response from teachers.
InC.ny presents a Learning Journey to Eu Yan Sang Singapore

On 13th August 2009, 14 staff members, including Mr Kwek, our Principal, and Miss Ng, our Vice-Principal, joined the InC.ny Committee on this informative and enriching learning journey to Eu Yan Sang Singapore (EYSS).
