5 representatives from Nanyang Junior College Choir - Serene Seow (0806), Dexter Chong (0809), Ting Hui Hui (0816), Amanda Leong (0820) and Kiew Chi Wei (0802), participated in the inaugural World Youth Choral Festival (WYCF) that was held from the 9-13th of December at the Victoria Concert Hall.
Beautiful Sunday - Ruan Expressions was held on 14 December 2008 at the Esplanade Concert Hall.
Ruan Expressions is a concert collaboration between Nanyang Junior College Chinese Orchestra, Ding Xiao Yan Ruan Ensemble and Pasir Ris Secondary School Chinese Orchestra.

The Singapore Middle School Chinese Teachers’ Association and Friday Weekly jointly organized various National competitions relating to Chinese Language annually. This year, our students have done us proud in achieving excellent results in the following competitions:
The Department of Chemistry at the National University of Singapore and the Singapore National Institute of Chemistry jointly organised this biennial Singapore National Crystal Growing Challenge for students. This creative and fun-giving crystal growing challenge is aimed at secondary school, junior college and polytechnic students.
Suthashini D/O Mogun of 0717 received the SEA award for her outstanding performance in 2007 Singapore Schools Sports Council National Colours Awards from Mr Mah Bow Tan, Minister for National Development. The SINDA EXCELLENCE AWARDS 2008 ceremony was held on 20 SEP 2008.

KEEN to win over O-level school leavers, who now get only a single shot at choosing a junior college, at least one school is rolling out the red carpet to give them a taste of post-secondary life.
On the 3rd of August 2008, several OSLE Chiang Rai, Thailand, participants helped out at The Braddell Heights Community Center’s (community health check event. This neighbourhood event, which began at 9 am and ended at around 2pm, attracted over 100 senior citizen participants.

On the the 4th of August, a team of four students from the Green Committee participated in the BMW Clean Energy Challenge. The challenge was to design and construct a model of an “Eco-Friendly House” – how the home in the future would be or look like, with most household devices running on alternative sources of energy.
