Nanyang Junior College's 32nd Student Council Communications Committee successfully planned and executed CCA Bazaar 2010. The Bazaar held recently on 3rd February, was the official platform for all CCAs in our college to showcase their diversity and uniqueness as well as to recruit new members. The Bazaar's planning committee was led by the Student Council Public Relations Officer for CCAs, Clement Tan, in consultation with Teacher Advisor, Ms Ng Sio Hoon.
The theme for this year's CCA Bazaar was "The Pirates of the Caribbean". There were 2 main highlights of the Bazaar, namely the CCA leaders' Walk-In held in the hall, and the "Flying Dutchman Showdown" live performances staged at the Atrium.
The event kicked-started with short talks on the purposes of CCAs given by Mr Tonny Lim, Subject Head for PE, and Ms Tan Meng Lee, Subject Head for Aesthetics CCAs.
The Walk-In of CCA representatives featured students who were leaders of CCAs in Aesthetics, Sports and Clubs & Societies. The JC1s had a great time cheering them on.
After the Walk-In, all JC1s were free to explore the Bazaar in search of the CCA that could possibly interest and inspire them. The organising committee also put in place attractive incentives for the first 20 JC1 explorers who could obtain the requisite number of stickers from the various CCAs.
The live performances at the Atrium commenced with a bang. It managed to attract a sizeable audience throughout its entire duration. The entire event ended on a high note, with the JC1s having obtained a good idea of the CCA they would join.
The success of CCA Bazaar 2010 would not have been possible without the active participation and collaboration of many parties, including the AVA, all CCA leaders who took part in the Walk-In, the House EXCO and CCAs which staged performances at the Atrium.
