The Singapore Academy of Law Junior College Programme (SALJC) 2011 was a two-week programme held from 28th November to 9th December. Its aim was to allow students in junior colleges to learn more about the law practice in Singapore through presentations by practising lawyers, job-shadowing and visits to places of legal relevance (such as the Parliament House, the Supreme Court and the Subordinate Courts).
From 12 to 14 December 2011, a group of nine JC1 students, myself included, attended an enrichment programme, Science Focus 2011, at the National University of Singapore (NUS). The programme featured electives in the fields of biological, computing, physical, pharmaceutical and quantum sciences, leaving us spoilt for choice.
