About Nanyang JC Choir

Embracing an ardent passion for singing, the 80-strong Nanyang Junior College (NYJC) Choir has been fervently striving to expand its potential through the various competitions it has taken part in.

Under the baton of various conductors, the choir has participated in several events such as the Singapore Youth Festival Central Judging for Choirs (Silver 2005, 2007 & 2009), A Voyage of Songs -- International Choral Competition in Kuala Lumpur, 2005 (Gold B award), the World Youth Choral Festival’s inaugural event in 2008 and has also showcased their singing talents in annual concerts such as Appassionata (2007, Victoria Concert Hall) as well as AbsoMUSIClutely (2008).

Conducted by Mr. Terrence Toh and with his competence and passion for music, the choir has been steered towards new directions, enabling our recent achievements in the Festival of Songs, Olomouc, Czech Republic 2010, where we were awarded a Gold as well as Silver medals for 2 respective categories we participated in.

Comprising young singers and a conductor full of energy and fervour for music-making, the choir will strive for greater breakthroughs in the choral scene, but most importantly, it is what NYJC Choir is all about – A family of singers, where we learn to sing, feel and make music.
