As a prelude to NYJC Arts Week 2008 on the 2nd week of May, NYJC Arts Department invites YOU to help us design either a new slogan or a new logo. Of course, it will be fantastic if you can do both!
We hope that both the slogan and the logo are able to elegantly capture and communicate the essence of NYJC Arts Department
Arts Department Mission: To cultivate students’ interest and appreciation of the Humanities and Arts so as to become active citizens in shaping the world for the better.
Arts Department Goals:
- To develop the understanding and knowledge of the key concepts that shape the society that we live in.

- To offer quality teaching that focuses on the skills and values that allow students to formulate coherent arguments and make rational decisions

Who to participate: All NYJCians with artistic talents
Deadline: 8 April 2008
- Winning entries of both categories will each walk away with $30 cash vouchers!!!
- Consolation prizes of $10 cash vouchers for both categories!!!
 Students can walk away with a total of $60 if they win both categories!!
Logo Design: All entries must be of original design and must bear the words “NYJC Arts Dept”
Image Size & Paper Dimensions: Design should fit either horizontally or vertically on standard A4 sized paper.
Submission details: Hardcopy of the logo design can be submitted to Ms Lynette Poh through her Pigeonhole box (no.84). Softcopy can be submitted via email to artsweek08@gmail.com
Identification & Design Information: Artist’s full name, class and contact MUST be clearly written on the back of the artwork, but should not show through. Computer generated logos must use a vector format, have color and fonts specified.
* Each logo submitted is best be accompanied by a brief summary explaining the rationale of the creator’s choice and should relate to any slogan used.
Slogan Design: All entries must be of original creation.
Media: Slogan MUST be type written using Times New Romans and font size 14.

Identification & Creation Information: Artist’s name, class and contact MUST be clearly written visibly on the file submitted
Rights Reserved: All artists agree that all artistic submissions become the property of the Nanyang Junior College Arts Department upon submission, and in the event that an artist’s submission is selected, the artist assigns any and all ownership rights to the design over to the Nanyang Junior College and such design shall become the property of the Nanyang Junior College Arts Department.
