Teachers are indeed one of the greatest contributors to society and in the current day and age, this is even more so the case. Apart from acting out their roles as educators of the future leaders of society, teachers have to juggle a myriad of other responsibilities as well, be it being parents to their own children or taking on community development roles; their profession does indeed stretch far more then being a mere academic instructor, but one that demands intense dedication and passion as well.
It is without doubt that their efforts should be recognized, and due respect should be given to these dedicated individuals. Simple acts such as studying diligently or handing in assignments punctually would indeed make their day; perhaps even bring relief to their stressful lifestyles.
And as many a teacher has said, it is definitely not the yearly gifts that makes him/her happy but the joys of producing capable students who are able to perform academic-wise, while being equipped with essential life-skills that allow them to tackle the challenges of life head-on. As such the very least that, we, as students, can do is to be aware of the pains our teachers endure, and appreciate the education we receive from them.
Alexander the Great himself once stated, “I am indebted to my father for living, but to my teacher for living well.” It is thanks to these very devoted teachers and their nurturing that we are able to develop both in mind and soul. Here’s wishing all teachers, a Happy Teachers’ Day. Thank You.
