15 May 2008, Thursday, will definitely be a day etched in the memory of the NYJC Boys’ Volleyball Team. After all, they stunned their opponents, Temasek Junior College (TJC), by winning three straight sets and clinching the championship at the Toa Payoh Sports Hall.

The NYJC team was unmatched in stamina and teamwork. The players thrilled the crowd with their smart tactics and quick moves often catching their opponents off-guard. The players displayed great camaraderie as they all worked together to ensure all attempts ended to their advantage. This was seen lacking in TJC players which cost them crucial points. NYJC shone and seemed to emerge stronger with every point scored. The opponents were losing sight of their goal and some seemed to have given in to fatigue. However, TJC did not give our players an easy time. In the third set, the boys went on the attack and managed to even the score from 8 to 14 forcing NYJC to re-think their strategy.

All in all, NYJC Boys’ Volleyball Team has once again proven their mettle and definitely shown that they are a force to reckon with. Congratulations boys!
