NYconneX online awarded for Publication Excellence

NYconneXions, the online newsletter for students of Nanyang Junior College, received a Grand Award in the 19th annual Awards for Publication Excellence (APEX). Based in the USA, APEX is a competition for professional Writers, Editors, Publications Staff and Business and Nonprofit Communicators.

The APEX award recognizes outstanding print and electronic publications displaying "excellence in graphic design, editorial content and the success of the entry -- in the opinion of the judges -- in achieving overall communications effectiveness and excellence."

Of the 4,916 entries submitted for consideration, only 114 entries received the Grand Award in 2007. From a total of 366 entries, NYconneXions was 1 of only 11 Grand Awardees under the category of "Web and Intranet Sites".

NYconneXions impressed the judges with its "intriguing presentation of very well-written, involving content -- a site full of appealing stories, reviews, news, and staff biographies makes for an interesting and very inviting site."

US-based Communications Concepts, Inc. has sponsored the APEX competition since 1989. The organization primarily advises professionals involved with publishing, marketing, PR and corporate communications to improve the quality of their publications and communications programmes.
