X Men III: The Last Stand

Duration: 149 minutes

The third installment of the X men continues with the discovery of a "cure" for mutants, which leads to Magneto leading his Brotherhood of Mutants into war against Humans as a pre-emptive strike against a mutant genocide. The X Men takes the role as mediators, pitting themselves against Magneto's Brotherhood.

The show boasts spectacular special effects surpassing those of its predecessors but lacks somewhat in its storyline. The movie seems rather rushed and answers to previous questions and problems in the earlier two installments are attended to superficially. The plot's devastating twists concerning certain main characters such as Professor Xavier, Cyclops and Jean Grey are certainly going to leave the audience dumbfounded and seeking answers that are hard to grasp.

Other than that, the movie is definitely worth your while as we see the debut of various new mutants like The Beast, Angel and Juggernaut on top of many others. Most of the movie revolves around Wolverine who has come to represent the heart of the X Men. The highlights are the attack at Jean Grey's house, Wolverine's chase in the Brotherhood's Camp and the clash between humans and mutants at the end.

Overall, the show is outstanding and very entertaining. The spectacular visual and audio effects makes up for the hurried pace of the show. Action packed sequences and mind-blowing mutant powers remains as a major attraction for the audience. It is a must-see for all fans of the X Men series. Although "The Last Stand" implies an end to the movie series, a brief scene after the credits sustains our hopes that there will be more about the X Men to come.
